The Evening Hours

It is a quiet evening with the
children all safe in their beds
and fast asleep.
The temperature is cold outside
and the wind is blowing.
While inside everything
is warm and the candle
glowing in the night.
There is a glimmer of light
that isn't sure if it wants
to shine bright or fade away.
The children are alseep,
so as I creep through the house
I wonder what the late night
hours passing us by until
morning's bright rays or sparks
of sunshine, will bring us.
Will it bring us relaxation,
happiness, contentment and
peace, or will it bring us
sorrow and uncertainty
about tomorrow.
